Baking and weaving

I'm not sure what's come over me, really.

Here's the mostly-finished scarf:

LB scarf

I still need to make the fringe neat. The color changes are all from the yarn. I have enough left of each to make another one, so I'll warp the loom again tonight. The weft (horizontal) yarn is very fuzzy and I may switch them to see what happens, but use a different reed. (The reed is the horizontal thing that the yarn's threaded through in this photo. The slots and holes are arranged in (number) per inch - this one is 10 per inch.

LB Amazing Strawberry Fields scarf

If I use the one that has 8 per inch, the fuzzy yarn might work well.)

The bread I made (from a James Beard recipe) on Sunday was overcooked, so I made another batch of the Farmgirl Fare's sandwich bread. It's an easy recipe to follow, but like all bread, it takes some time.

Farmgirl's basic bread recipe - YUM

I started it late, so I was up until 11 p.m. baking. (And then stayed up until 11:30 to let it cool and try a piece, yum.) That gave me plenty of time to finish weaving the scarf.

Naturally, the dog woke me up early, insisting on going out. I'm a little bleary-eyed today. That's okay - another cup of tea and I'll be rarin' to go.

Comments

You're like Laura Ingalls Wilder, with the weaving and the baking.
Possibly so, but a terribly foul-mouthed version. Heh.
